Optoelectronic Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry
8. november 2011
The Michelsen Centre is proud to be a co-sponsor of the 3rd Annual Technical Meeting 'Optoelectronic Technologies For the Oil and Gas Industry' Tuesday 8 November, 2011 in Bergen.
The adoption of Optoelectronics technologies across the oil and gas industry continues to expand, with optoelectronic devices now routinely employed in systems to generate and communicate the information required for production optimization, enhanced oil recovery, extending field lifetimes and future intelligent oil field systems.Examples of such optoelectronic technologies include:
- optical fibres for subsea communications and downhole monitoring
- imaging systems for subsea inspection, optical leak detection
- optoelectronic sensors for structural integrity and topside process monitoring
The breadth of optoelectronic technologies that may be utilized by the oil and gas industry will be reflected in sessions covering optoelectronics for Downhole, Seabed, Subsea and Surface applications.
Based on the growing interest in the area the 2011 meeting will be the 3rd in the series and will be held in Bergen, Norway’s second largest city, and a centre for the oil and gas sector. The meeting provides a unique opportunity for oil and gas industry professionals, technology developers, academics, and researchers to share the latest innovations in this rapidly expanding technology area.
