In 2006 CMR and the University of Bergen were granted 80 millions NOK over a period of 8 years for a new national Centre for Research-based Innovation (CRI), within measurement science and technology. The Michelsen Centre for Industrial Measurement Science and Technology (MIMT) was officially opened on April 16, 2007.
CMR is the host organization of MIMT, in close cooperation with the University of Bergen . Other partners of the centre are Aanderaa Data Instruments, Archerwell, Bergen University College, CGGVeritas, FMC Kongsberg Metering, MMC Tendos, Proanalysis, Roxar, and Statoil.
MIMT contributes to the development of innovative solutions for the next generation of measurement technology, for the benefit of the partners, and the society in general. In addition, MIMT contributes to the education of PhD students, MSc students and BSc students.
